[Top War: Battle Game]Best Android Games Like Age of Empires

Right now, there isn’t an Age of Empires game on Android. Will there ever be? Stranger things have happened, but if you want to get something that feels a bit like Age of Empires on your Android phone or tablet there are plenty of options out there for you.

In fact, there are probably too many options. That’s why we’ve written this list to narrow things down a bit. We’ve tried to find the games that best capture some part of the AoE experience. They might not have it all, but they’ll scratch some of your Age of Empires itching, that’s for sure. You can click on the names of the games to download them from the Play Store.

If you’ve got your own suggestions, we’d love to hear them in the comments section. Before we get there, though, here are what we think are the ten best games like Age of Empires available on Android in 2021.

It might look cute and cuddly, but there’s a good deal of meat on Battle of Polytopia’s bones. You’re building your civilization, taking on enemy tribes and trying to take control of the pretty darn large maps. Throw in some multiplayer options and you’re on to a winner.

This one sees you building your empire up from nothing and trying to take over the world. You need to think about diplomacy, exploration and loads more as you expand, with one eye on the other settlements springing up around you. And if you’re a bit more bloodthirsty, there are military options too.

A deep and tactical RTS that sees you taking control of the legions of Rome. It works brilliantly on mobile and there’s so much content here that you’re definitely going to lose hours, if not weeks, of your life to the game.

Instead of trying to conquer, this one sees you trying to stabilize several different regions in the aftermath of a conflict. It’s a neat twist on the usual murdering people, and will make you think in a bunch of different ways.

If you don’t have loads of time on your hands but you’d like to engage in some RTS excellence, you should definitely check out Iron Marines. It’s skirmishes might be small, but there’s still a decent level of challenge here if you want to come out on top.

A retro-tastic take on the RTS genre, this is for fans who’ve been playing the likes of AoE since it was first launched. Don’t let the simpler graphics fool you, though, there’s a deep and engaging game here that’s going to keep your fingers entertained.

A battle-based RTS that sees you fighting on the land, sea and air to try and take control of a bunch of different islands. If you want to jump straight into the warfare, then this is a pretty darn good way to do it.

A free to play take on some of the ideas from the Total War series. Build your town, recruit allies and take on other players and AI foes in massive battles. It might not have the depth of a fully fledged RTS, but there’s still a lot to enjoy here.?

Engage in massive, historically accurate battles set across the Hundred Years War. There are some card-based twists to the combat, a massive story and loads more besides. Definitely one for the connoisseur.?

A hex-based wargame set during the English Civil War. Cavaliers, Roundheads, that sort of thing. There are 12 missions to play through, and you can choose either side, so that’s technically 24 missions, and you can buy more missions as IAPs.
